Julie Forester
Welcome
I studied for four years at university in the UK, graduating with a first-class bachelor’s degree with honours.
The publication of my first book, along with a series of personal events, prompted me to re-evaluate a few things in my life. So, in 2021, I took a leap of faith and went freelance with my editing.
Drawing on 28 years of professional experience, I redirected my career and combined editing with my formal training in painting and drawing to design graphic artwork for paperback and eBook covers.
I haven't looked back and have been privileged to work with many wonderful authors over the years.
You can also check out the UK's Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), widely regarded as the gold standard in the profession. Membership enables editors keep our skills up to date while supporting our continuing professional development and training.

My life has been action-packed with thrill-seeking experiences: motorcycle trail riding, stand-up jet skiing, water skiing, RYA advanced powerboating, competitive fencing, karate, scuba diving, and learning to fly an aeroplane. I even considered a career as a stunt double.
Today, my wife and I, along with our rescue cat Poppy, live just north of London, within walking distance of beautiful countryside and a canal-side stroll.
Oh, and even though I occasionally play the guitar (badly) and sing a bit, I leave that to those with actual talent.
