Julie's print book & ebook cover art.
I'm an author and freelance editor who just happens to have artistic skills and training, too!
I start my cover artwork from original hand-drawn composition sketches, developed from scratch and then digitally illustrated using a stylus and tablet. I share these initial concepts with my clients before integrating the sketches into the finished artwork.
I use a combination of hand-drawn digital illustration and, where appropriate, photographic references as visual guides to inform compositional details and ensure accuracy for elements such as anatomy, lighting, perspective, textures, architecture, clothing, and natural forms.
All textures, shading, colours, and details are created manually using standard digital illustration tools. I do not instruct generative AI (ChatGPT) to create your artwork.
For a single price of £190, my service includes BOTH an upload-ready ebook cover and print-ready paperback sleeve with a back cover blurb. Both are designed to meet the standard technical requirements for digital publishing and professional printing.
Interested? Do you like a particular style from my sample selection on this page? Do you already have an idea of what you want? Perhaps, you just want to make contact to chat and find out more? Either way, I'd love to hear from you! Please email me for a no-obligation enquiry.

About AI generated artwork: Currently, publishing platforms such as Amazon KDP require publishers to disclose the use of AI-generated images for cover artwork. By contrast, AI-assisted editing (such as Photoshop's Content-Aware Fill, AI-powered upscaling, noise reduction, or similar enhancements applied to a human-created image) does not require disclosure.
This distinction is an important point of difference and one that authors should understand, as assisted editing in this way is not the same as generative AI used to create artwork.
