⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Read it, just read it.
This is just fabulous. I loved every word of it. The story was both believable and captivating. I could see every detail in the story, forming a picture in my head of the characters and the settings. You know like Bastian reading the Never Ending Story? Well that was me with Marmalade Martini. I am super excited for the next book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A damn roller coaster of drama.
Just finished reading Marmalade Martini by @JulieForester1. This book was a damn roller coaster of drama, victories, and a bit of suspense. Had me hooked and desperately checking to see when the sequel would be out. More drama than romance but great.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ A page turner.
This book definitely keeps you wanting to turn the pages. It has a high dose of drama with pockets of levity and...characters to keep you engaged...the descriptions were really well done. Particularly Alchemy - definitely the kind of place I'd love to hang out. There are so many plot-lines going...which was not a bad thing - the story was engaging and kept building with each page...The book ends with some great resolutions and some unanswered questions...Overall, I enjoyed the book. I definitely want more of these characters.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This is a re-read.
For a first novel this is very accomplished. From the moment Jaimie walks into the bar named "Alchemy" the story never lets go. The MC's are to die for, very likeable and you're willing them to get together as soon as the sparks fly. Their chemistry is palpable. I really loved how Ms Forrester wrote the close bond of Jaimie and her sister - love each other, but fall out big time. Reminds me of my relationship with my sister!! It's very rare that a first novel doesn't have editing issues - parts of the writing that could have been culled to tighten the story, but this didn't need it. I was very taken with all the characters, and even the secondary ones were well drawn and rounded. I can't wait to read the next book. This book I can see I will read over and over again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ SUCH a refreshing read.
The reviews for this book were the catalyst that hooked me in. This is an enthralling, intriguing delight from start to finish. I was gutted when I finished the book. As an older reader (late 50s) it was really refreshing to read a contemporary novel with older characters that felt authentic with all their appeal, as well as flaws. This is a brilliantly written book with great pace, great descriptions of London and great observations of people's thoughts, feelings and reactions to life and situations. There is really clever seat-of-the-pants, unexpected sub-plots that had me turning the pages voraciously! If it's great characters, description laughs, drama, beautifully understated sex scenes (although that is personal preference) and clever twists and turns you want, this is your book. This novel is crying out for a sequel...

⭐⭐⭐⭐ A good beginning for Julie!
This book has so much to talk about. The main characters meet in a typical lesbian way, in a bar. But after that initial meeting nothing about their growing attraction is typical. Julie adds a few twists and turns, with something new after each, that keeps the story interesting. I liked the fact, it was a longer story and was very happy to find it didn’t drag or cause me to lose interest due to the length! I know you’ll enjoy Julie’s debut book and I can’t wait to read more of her work.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Superb debut novel.
This gripping story had me captivated from the opening pages. I wanted to find out what had happened to Jamie. I read it in one sitting which shows how good the book was. It was set in London and it was great to be familiar with the places mentioned. I loved the characters and especially Jamie and her sister.
Lots going on, it is more than a Lesbian love story, we follow Jamie and see what is going on in her life. Lots of subplots, twists and turns to keep you glued to the pages. Fabulous debut story well written by Julie Forester. Looking forward to reading the next book by this talented author.
